My Ode to Eyeshadows

I have a confession to make. I'm obsessed with eyeshadows. It's like the way Carrie Bradshaw felt about shoes. In fact, last night I found myself sending a frantic message to Anastasia Beverly Hills begging them to make "Treasure" a single eyeshadow because I've hit pan on the one in my Self Made Palette. Is there a support group for this? Some days I'm like no one needs 100 eyeshadows. Yet, I can't imagine living without any of them. So I'm just going to list out the eyeshadows that I can NOT live without. #Sorrynotsorry

OK first of all, it took me wayyy too long to discover Makeup Geek eyeshadows. They are honestly better than MAC and a fraction of the price. So I'm just going to go ahead and list them out for ya. No particular order.



1. Peach Smoothie - RIDE OR DIE. Get in my crease every single day

6. Dirty Martini - I'm obsessed with olive green eyeshadows and this one is just...magical
7. Chickadee - Before you are like, orange eyeshadow say what? It's so pretty and flattering and will        brighten you up like the sun

OK so these eyeshadows are kind of pricey BUT they are the most buttery, pigmented, beautiful, amazing eyeshadows I've ever encountered. Like they are life changing. I recommend getting one of the palettes of 5's because I feel like you get 5 amazing shadows without totally breaking the bank.

Anastasia 

Everything that Anastasia does is just magic. She totally conquered the brow world and there is literally nothing else I'd use on my brows ever. Her lipglosses and liquid lipsticks are awesome sauce. And her eyeshadows are gorgeous and I loooove them.

Note: I would say orange soda or soft peach, but if you have peach smoothie you are good to go and it's much less expensive!

So lately I've been straying a little away from MAC but there are some eyeshadows from MAC that are just must have or you should find dupes for them because if you ask me everyone should have colors like these in their collection. So these are the colors that you should either get or try to emulate I feel.

1. Soft brown. It's just the best crease color ever and goes with any look.
2. Satin Taupe
3. Brown Script - everyone needs a reddish brown in their life
4. Naked Lunch - pretty champagney lid color
5. Sketch - this is the perfect wine color/purple
6. Nylon - it's a really great shimmy white for an inner corner highlight or underneath the brow. But if shimmery is not your jam, go with Shroom
7. Kid - Kid is a really great transition shade for cool toned looks
8. Embark
9. Samoa Silk
10. All That Glitters
11. Expensive Pink (if you like pink. which I dooo)



So obviously you do not need all of these. At all. If i had to just pick 5 eyeshadows to use for the rest of my life that would be so hard. So so hard. Actually I can't do it. So I can't feel help you, but this is at least a start!

All I Want For Xmas is...Makeup

Sooo I haven't really blogged much, but I hope you are all having a magical holiday season. So remember that episode of "Sex and the City" where Carrie was all, i'm engaged to myself yo. And I'm registered at Monolo Blahnik." Sometimes I wish I could register for makeup so in case you ever wanted to randomly buy me a present you could just see my Sephora wish list. But in the spirit of giving, I'm also going to give you my very favorite makeup products that I seriously could not live without. OK, I probably could. I definitely could. But I wouldn't want to because makeup is my crack. Hope you enjoy my list of goodies.

Eye Palettes:
Basically, I've decided that in life you only really need two palettes. The Melt Cosmetics Dark Matter stack because it has all your mattes for ya. A matte light brown, darker brown, black and red. Yes, red. You may not think you love red eyeshadow, but trust me ya do.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette
This palette is sooooo gorgous and the combinations are endless. I could try to tell you my favorites but I seriously love every single color in that freakin palette.

Highlighter
Ok it's a little pricey, but the Becca/Jaclyn Hill champagne pop highlighter is life. It just is.

I've heard the dose of colors highlighter are bomb. If anyone wants to get me some, I would not be objecting.

Mascara
I've really been true to Bare Minerals curl and lengthening mascara. But then i discovered Tarte's light camera lashes and can i just admit...I'm a convert. And when it comes to lashes House of Lashes Iconic. It's just what you're gonna need.

Liquid Liner
Ok so I found the best liquid liner that I've ever ever used and it is the Kat Von D tattoo liner in black. It's so easy to use and it gives me the perfect wing everytime and I wish someone would just get me 10 of these bad boys.

Colour Pop
I'm just going to present this as an entire category because i love the brand so much. The colors are gorgeous and it's just so affordable. Not gonna lie, i am partial to the lippies, highlighters and a couple eyeshadows. And I def recommend applying the highlighters and eyeshadows with your finger. I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you my very favorites:

Lippies: Frida (my everyday go to color), Skimpy (perfect nude), Tootsi (grey goddess), grunge (90s brown) jonesing (gorgeous winter berry color)

I just got Tarte's Park Avenue Princess today and I'm in love. I heard Mac Give Me Sun is great, but i've been trying to avoid MAC. thoughts?

I'm actually in between blushes at the moment. I'm kinda over Nars orgasm. So far liking Exposed by Tarte. Open to suggestions! I've heard the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes are amaze. Dying to get my hands on Dim Infusion and Ethreal Pink.

Foundation/Concealers:
 I'm a Makeup Forever HD girl. But also loving the nars radiant creamy concealer.
